University of Oviedo - Master Scholarships

What you get

You will receive a grant of one-off payment of 2,000 EUR to cover the tuition fees for an official Master’s degree programme. The funds come from a grant provided by the Regional Government of Asturias, which has allocated a total of 50,000 EUR for these grants. The grant covers the academic year 2025–2026 and will be paid as a one-off payment, not as monthly instalments.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are enrolled on an official Master’s degree programme (Máster Universitario) comprising at least 60 ECTS credits.
• Where you study: You are studying at the University of Oviedo or at the UNED, Spain’s open university.
• Field of study: Any topic is allowed.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Grades: Your average mark in the degree programme that qualified you for admission to the Master’s programme is at least 6.00 out of 10.
• Financial need: Your family income for 2024 is below the specified thresholds.
• No earlier master's: You do not yet have a master’s degree.
• No double funding: You will not receive any further funding to cover the same tuition fees, such as a scholarship from a federal ministry.

How to apply

You can submit your application online via the Asturian Regional Government’s electronic portal (Sede Electrónica) or in person at its registry office in Oviedo. Only one application may be submitted. The application deadline is 30 working days from the official announcement; the cut-off date is 28 June.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is very restrictive. You must be enrolled on a Master’s programme at a specific university, achieve a certain grade threshold and meet the family income limits, meaning that the number of people eligible for the grant is small. With a budget of 50,000 EUR and a grant amount of 2,000 EUR per scholarship, there are approximately 25 scholarships available. If you clearly meet the income and grade requirements and apply by the deadline, your chances are good.
