About this scholarship
Valencian tuition-fee exemption grant
You will receive your university tuition fees waived for the year. You do not pay anything for the courses you are taking for the first or second time at a higher education institution within the Valencian higher education system. You will never receive any cash: the money goes directly to your higher education institution. If you have already paid your fees, the university will refund the amount as soon as the decision has been published. The grant is provided by the Generalitat Valenciana, the regional government of Valencia, Spain. It does not apply to doctoral programmes, specialisation courses or university-specific qualifications.
Who can apply
- Level: You are studying for an official Bachelor’s (Grado) or Master’s degree, or an older Spanish degree such as Licenciado, Diplomado or Ingeniero.
- Field of study: Any subject.
- University: You are enrolled at a public or private higher education institution within the Valencian higher education system or at an affiliated institution.
- Where you live: At the time of submitting your application, you are registered as a resident of a town in the Comunitat Valenciana.
- Nationality: You are a Spanish national or an EU citizen. Non-EU citizens must have lawful residence status; a temporary residence permit is not sufficient.
- No higher degree yet: You do not yet hold an equivalent or higher qualification.
- Income: Your family income and assets are below the specified limits. These limits increase with the number of people in your household.
- Grades: For a Master’s programme leading to a regulated profession, you will need at least a 6.50 from your previous studies; for other Master’s programmes, a 7.00 is required. Places are allocated primarily to applicants with the highest average marks.
- Exception: If you are a victim of gender-based violence, you will receive the grant directly, without having to meet any academic or income-related criteria.
How to apply
You must submit your application online via the Generalitat Valenciana’s electronic portal (procedure G265). You must log in using a digital certificate or a permanent password. For the year 2025–2026, the application window runs from 10 February to 9 March 2026. There is no application fee.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is open exclusively to students who live in the Valencia region and are studying at universities there; the pool of applicants is therefore regional rather than nationwide. Places are awarded on the basis of academic performance, with those having the highest average marks being considered first. The key criteria are good academic performance and meeting the income thresholds. If you clearly meet the requirements regarding place of residence, income and academic performance, your chances are good.
