About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive 2,400 EUR to carry out an independent research project on the Cinca Medio region and the town of Monzón in the province of Huesca, Spain. You will have one year from the date the contract is signed to complete the work. The grant will be paid as a lump sum once you have completed the work and CEHIMO has approved it. During your work, you may use CEHIMO’s premises and services. The grant is administered by CEHIMO, a research centre in Monzón which promotes studies on the region and safeguards its cultural heritage.

Eligibility

  • Your project: You research a topic about Monzón and the Cinca Medio region. The work must be original and not yet published.
  • Field of study: Any subject area is fine, as long as the topic is relevant to the region.
  • Qualification: You hold a university degree or can provide evidence of an academic qualification.
  • Where you are from: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. There are no requirements regarding nationality or place of residence.
  • No double funding: You will not receive any further funding or grants for the same research topic.

How to apply

Please send your application by post to CEHIMO in Monzón. Please enclose your project proposal, your CV, proof of your qualification and a statement confirming that you are not receiving any other funding for the same project. The application deadline is 31 October 2026. A panel will select the winning project; its decision is final. If no project meets the requirements, the grant may not be awarded.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding scheme has a narrow thematic focus: your project must centre on Monzón and the Cinca Medio region, meaning that only a small number of applicants will be eligible. There are no restrictions regarding nationality or place of residence; what is therefore crucial is a convincing, original proposal that relates to the region. If your research clearly fits within the scope of the scheme and you submit a well-founded project plan, your chances are good. Please note that the selection panel may decide not to award the grant if it is not convinced by any of the proposals.
