About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a monthly allowance in addition to your Erasmus+ grant or another grant for international mobility. In this context, ‘mobility’ refers to studying abroad as part of your degree programme. You will receive the allowance for each month you spend studying abroad, up to a maximum of 9 months. The amount of the allowance depends on the cost of living in your destination country:
- 350 EUR per month for pricier destinations such as Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, the Nordic countries, the United Kingdom and any country outside Europe.
- 300 EUR per month for countries such as Portugal, Greece, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Cyprus, Malta and the Baltic States.
- 250 EUR per month for countries such as Poland, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Serbia, North Macedonia and Turkey.
The Regional Government of Aragon (Spain) pays this amount in addition to your existing Erasmus+ grant. The aim is to enable students from low-income families to study abroad. The total budget amounts to approximately 600,000 euros per year, meaning that several hundred students receive funding in each funding round.
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled on an official degree programme at the University of Zaragoza or San Jorge University in Zaragoza, Spain.
- Where you go: You are studying abroad through Erasmus+, or through another international mobility programme listed in the call. Work placements (Erasmus+ traineeships) do not qualify.
- Grant: You are already receiving an Erasmus+ grant or another eligible mobility grant for the same academic year.
- Residence: You are registered as a resident (empadronado) in a municipality in Aragon prior to the publication of the call for applications.
- Financial need: Your household’s income is a key factor in the allocation of scholarships; therefore, applicants on lower incomes will be given priority.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Other funding: You may not receive any further grant exceeding 500 EUR from a public or private organisation.
How to apply
You apply online via the Government of Aragon’s e-procedures portal. You log in using an electronic ID, such as a digital certificate or cl@ve. The application window is short: for the 2026/27 round, it ran from 8 to 26 June 2026. Allocations are based on household income and decisions are made within three months of the deadline.
How realistic are your chances?
This additional funding is aimed at a small target group. Only students from the two universities in Zaragoza who are already receiving an Erasmus+ grant and are registered as residents in Aragon are eligible to apply; the pool of applicants is therefore limited. With an annual budget of around 600,000 EUR for several hundred students, your chances are good if you clearly meet the eligibility criteria and your household income is low. Priority is mainly based on need. Prepare your documents well in advance, as the application period is only a few weeks.
