IQS-Blanquerna Scholarship for Pharmaceutical Studies

For the Bachelor’s degree programme in Pharmacy in Barcelona, you will receive 50% discount on your tuition fees. The first-year tuition fees amount to 14,160 EUR (236 EUR per credit for 60 credits), meaning this scholarship will reduce your monthly instalments – due from October onwards – by around half. You can renew it each year, provided you continue to meet the eligibility criteria, so that it covers the entire duration of the 5-year (300 ECTS) programme. Two non-profit organisations that jointly offer the programme – IQS and Fundació Blanquerna – jointly fund the scholarship based on your family’s income. The separate registration fee, which you pay upon enrolment, is not included in this.

Who can apply

• Degree: You are provisionally enrolled and admitted to the IQS-Blanquerna Bachelor’s degree programme in ‘Pharmacy’ in Barcelona; the programme is taught in Catalan and Spanish.
• First degree: This is your first time studying at a university. You do not yet hold a university degree.
• Financial need: Your household income is no more than 20,000 EUR per year per person in your household.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, but must be resident in Spain or Andorra.
• Proof: You must submit the application form together with your income and tax documents (IRPF). The committee will also check whether you have applied for any other public grants.
• To renew each year: You keep meeting these conditions, pass at least 70% of the credits you enrolled in the previous year, and stay within the limit on missed classes.

How to apply

You apply through the Blanquerna Economic Aid Service once you have been admitted to the Pharmacy degree. Submit the form and your income documents by 8 July 2026 for the 2026-27 course. The committee reviews applications and tells you the outcome individually, with the first decision on 30 June 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is subject to very strict eligibility criteria. You must be starting the relevant pharmacy degree in Barcelona, be resident in Spain or Andorra, and provide evidence that your family’s income per family member is less than 20,000 EUR. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants is small, meaning that a well-suited applicant who clearly demonstrates their need has a good chance of success. Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee approval, and applying early is advisable, as decisions are made in several rounds.
