University of Valencia - Grants for Postgraduate Degrees

What you get

This scholarship covers your tuition fees for an official Master’s programme at the University of Valencia in the 2025–2026 academic year. You will not receive any cash. Instead, the scholarship covers the cost of your enrolment credits. For most Master’s programmes, this covers the credits you are taking for the first time. For Master’s programmes leading to a regulated profession, such as legal practice, secondary school teaching or general health psychology, it also covers the credits you retake. Minor administrative fees for your paperwork, student ID card and university insurance are not included. The total budget for this funding round is 300,000 euros, of which 120,000 euros are earmarked for Master’s students. The university awards the scholarship to support students who have not received funding from the Spanish Ministry or the Valencian Government.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are enrolled on an official Master’s degree programme at one of the University of Valencia’s campuses, not at an affiliated centre. Doctoral programmes and non-official degree programmes do not count.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine.
• No higher degree: You do not yet hold a qualification that is equivalent to or higher than the Master’s programme you are applying for.
• Nationality: You are a Spanish national or an EU citizen. Applicants from non-EU countries must hold a valid residence permit; a temporary residence permit is not sufficient.
• Where you live: You are officially registered (empadronado) in a municipality in the Comunitat Valenciana for the entire academic year.
• Credits: You are enrolled for at least 30 ECTS credits, unless you require fewer credits to complete your degree.
• Grades: First-year students must have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 6.0 from their previous studies, or at least 5.0 for professional Master’s programmes. Students in higher semesters must have passed at least 80% of the credit points taken in the previous year.
• Financial need: Your family income must remain below certain thresholds, for example around 22,600 euros for a single-person household and around 55,300 euros for a four-person household; there are also asset limits. Larger families, as well as single parents or households with disabled members, receive additional allowances.
• No double funding: You will not receive either a grant from the Ministry or the Valencian Government, nor a full exemption from tuition fees, for the same year.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the university’s ENTREU platform under ‘Student Applications’. The application deadline is 11 May. This is a selection process: a committee will review all applications and decide who will be awarded a scholarship.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed exclusively at Master’s students at the University of Valencia who live in the Comunitat Valenciana, meet the academic requirements and fall within the income limits. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants is quite small. As the aim is to support students who have not received grants from the Ministry or the Region, and given that a specific budget of 120,000 euros has been allocated for Master’s students, a suitable applicant who clearly meets the income and academic criteria has a good chance of success. As this is a competitive scholarship, you should apply before the deadline and ensure your application is complete.
