About this scholarship

What you get

You will be awarded a travel grant of 2,000 EUR for one semester or a full academic year at a partner university in the United States. You will continue to pay your regular tuition fees to the University of Murcia and will not be required to pay any fees at the host university abroad. You will be responsible for covering the cost of your accommodation and meals whilst there. The programme is organised by the Office of International Relations at the University of Murcia. US partner universities include Bowling Green State University (Ohio), Florida International University, Kent State University, Millikin University, Oregon State University, Simpson College, Southern Utah University and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled on an official Bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Murcia.
  • Credits done: You have already earned at least 60 ECTS credits.
  • Grades: Most universities do not specify a minimum grade. Florida International University requires a grade point average of at least 7.5 on the Spanish grading scale.
  • English: You can demonstrate that your English language proficiency is at level B2. Some universities require a TOEFL score of 72; Florida International University requires 80. IELTS (from 5.5), Cambridge FCE or Trinity ISE II are also accepted.
  • Field of study: Students from all disciplines are welcome to apply, although some places are tied to a specific host institution (for example, the College of Business at Oregon State University).
  • First time: You have not yet taken part in this programme or in ISEP. ISEP is an independent US exchange network.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at the University of Murcia.

How to apply

Please apply via the University of Murcia’s mobility portal by 30 March. Online information sessions will be held before the deadline. Places will then be allocated.

How realistic are your chances?

This programme is open exclusively to Bachelor’s students at the University of Murcia, and each US host institution offers only one or a few places. The number of participants is therefore small, but you are competing directly for each individual place. If you have 60 credits, good grades and a B2 English language certificate, you are a strong candidate. Make sure you sort out your language certificate well in advance, as this is the requirement that most applicants fail to meet.
