UAM Molecular Biosciences fellowship

You will receive a monthly grant of approximately 1,142 EUR for up to 48 months to study Molecular Biosciences at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) in Spain. A scholarship is a funded place of study, so you will be paid whilst you study and carry out laboratory work. The programme comprises three Master’s degree programmes (Biomolecules and Cell Dynamics, Molecular Biomedicine and Biotechnology) as well as a PhD in Molecular Biosciences. The UAM runs the programme in collaboration with leading research centres in Madrid, such as CBMSO, CNB, CNIC and CNIO, meaning you’ll work side by side with active researchers.

• Where you study: You are studying at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Madrid, Spain. This award is intended to support your time abroad.
• Field of study: You are studying a subject in the field of molecular biosciences, such as biochemistry, molecular biomedicine, biotechnology or cell dynamics.
• Level: You are a Master’s or PhD student on this programme.
• Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
• Motivation: You’d like to carry out research and work in research centres.

How realistic are your chances?

As this funding is tied to a specific degree programme at a particular university and to the field of molecular biosciences, only a small number of applicants will be considered. If you have a sound knowledge of biochemistry or biology and are a clear fit for the degree programme, your chances are good. Places are limited, so strong academic performance and a clear interest in research are crucial.
