About this scholarship

Placement Scholarship at Brunel University London

For your placement year – the year of work integrated into a sandwich degree programme – you will receive a fee waiver of about 1,150 EUR (£1,000). This money covers the full tuition fees for that one year, so you do not have to pay anything. The exemption applies to a single year: the third year for ‘thick-and-thin’ sandwich degree programmes, or the fourth year for sandwich degree programmes leading to an MEng, MMath or MFinMath degree. Brunel University London offered this as part of its support package for students who commenced their studies in the year 2014.

Who can apply

  • Course type: You are undertaking a sandwich degree programme at Brunel University, i.e. a degree programme that includes a year’s work placement.
  • Field of study: Every subject, provided your degree programme includes a year of work placement.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Underrepresented background: At least one of the following statements applies to you: you have left a care setting; you live in a region where few people go to university; you started your degree at the age of 21 or older; you come from a low-income household; you attended a partner school of Brunel University, you have a disability (including dyslexia), or your parents did not go to university.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship was intended exclusively for students who commenced their studies at Brunel University in 2014, and is no longer available. There was no set number of places: any student on a work-study programme who met one of the eligibility criteria was eligible. An applicant who met the eligibility criteria at the time would therefore have received the scholarship. It is listed here for information purposes only. Current students at Brunel University should instead look at the university’s current scholarships.
