Euran Opintorahastoyhdistys ry - Scholarship

What you get

You receive a scholarship (a grant you do not pay back), paid as a one-off sum to help with your studies. The amount is set individually and depends on your grades and your financial situation. The provider also offers an interest-free student loan of 1,000, 2,000 or 3,000 EUR. Every eligible applicant gets this loan. It is paid in two parts (November/December and the following January) and repaid in two instalments after a 6-year term. The money comes from Euran Opintorahastoyhdistys ry (Study Fund Association of Eura), a Finnish non-profit founded in 1952 that supports young people from the Eura region with over 100,000 EUR per operating term.

Who can apply

• Study level: You are attending a vocational school, a university of applied sciences or a university. Pupils at a comprehensive school or in the upper secondary school are not eligible to apply.
• Where you come from: You obtained your school-leaving certificate at a school in the Eura area or in the former municipality of Lappi.
• Age: To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be younger than 30. There is no age limit for the interest-free loan.
• Field of study: All subjects are open.
• Grades and need: Both your grades and your financial situation are taken into account. Scholarships are mainly awarded to the best students, as only a limited number are available each year.

How to apply

You can apply online via the association’s portal, or by submitting a paper application form by email or in person at the Alasatakunta office in Eura. To use the online portal, please register using your personal email address, not your school email address. Please enclose proof of your current enrolment and your most recent school report. If you are applying on financial grounds, please also include details of your financial situation. You will be notified of the decision personally in October.
