Vähittäiskaupan Tutkimussäätiö research scholarship

You receive a one-off research grant of up to 4,000 EUR for a research project about retail trade in Finland. The exact sum depends on the scope of your work. Master's thesis projects (pro gradu) get smaller amounts, while larger projects such as doctoral dissertations get more. The money comes from the Vähittäiskaupan Tutkimussäätiö (Retail Research Foundation), set up in 1964 to fund research on private retail trade in Finland.

Who can apply

• What you research: Your work must be about retail trade. Research on specialist retail (erikoiskauppa, shops focused on one product type) is funded first.
• Level: You are writing a master's thesis or working on a larger project such as a doctoral dissertation.
• University: You can study at any university.

How to apply

Fill in the foundation's application form and send it with your attachments by 31 October, either online or by post. The board reviews all applications received by the deadline at its November meeting. You then get the result by letter or email.
