Corsican grant for Grandes Écoles and preparatory classes

You will receive a one-off grant of up to 3000 EUR for one academic year. This is intended to help you study at a selective Grande École (a leading French higher education institution) or in a preparatory class (CPGE) on the French mainland outside Corsica. The Collectivité de Corse awards this grant to support Corsican students in demanding, highly selective degree programmes. The exact amount depends on your family’s taxable income per household member and on your personal circumstances:

• No state scholarship, internal prep class: 800 EUR, 500 EUR or 250 EUR, from the lowest to the highest income bracket.
• No state scholarship, external prep class: 200 EUR, 150 EUR or 100 EUR, from the lowest to the highest income bracket.
• Already on a state scholarship: flat rate of 600 EUR.

The grant applies only to the academic year for which you are applying. You cannot apply for it for a previous year.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at a selective Grande École or in a preparatory class (CPGE) in France (excluding Corsica). Your degree programme must appear on the list of approved degree programmes drawn up by the French Ministry of Higher Education.
• Residence: Your tax residence was in Corsica during the three calendar years prior to submitting your application.
• Age: You are under 28 on 31 December of the current year.
• Field of study: All disciplines except medicine (formerly PASS/LAS).
• You study in France: You’re not studying abroad.
• Not a jobseeker: You are not registered as a jobseeker and do not receive vocational training allowances.
• No double funding: You are not applying for the back-to-school grant for either scholarship holders or non-scholarship holders.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the Ghjuventù platform. The application period runs from 25 July to 31 October.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is very strictly defined. You must be tax residents in Corsica and have secured a place at a selective ‘Grande École’ or in a preparatory class on the French mainland, meaning that the pool of eligible applicants is small. If you clearly meet these criteria and apply in good time, your chances are good. Please note, however, that the grant is not awarded automatically and is subject to the availability of funds.
