Ardèche departmental grant for students

You will receive between 138 EUR and 690 EUR per academic year, paid by the Ardèche Departmental Council (Conseil départemental de l'Ardèche) in south-eastern France. The amount depends on your parents’ taxable income: the lower the income, the higher the grant, up to a maximum of 690 EUR. This is a supplementary grant for students who do not yet receive a national or regional scholarship.

Who can apply

• Level: You are studying at a university or other higher education institution on a first degree course (not a reskilling programme).
• Where your parents live: Your parents live in the Ardèche department (postcode area 07).
• No other grant: You will not receive either a national (CROUS) or a regional grant. This funding cannot be combined with either of these grants.
• Financial need: The benefit is based on your parents’ income and is intended for families on a modest income.
• Age: You are between 16 and 30 years old.
• Field of study: Any subject.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the Ministry’s funding platform at subventions.ardeche.fr. The application period begins in early October. Please submit your application by 31 January of the current academic year. You can use a tool on the platform to estimate the amount of funding you may receive before submitting your application.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a very select group: your parents must live in the Ardèche, you must not already be receiving a scholarship from the CROUS or a regional funding body, and your family’s income must be low. This keeps the number of applicants small. This is means-tested financial support rather than a competitive scheme, so there is no competition for places. If you meet the criteria and apply before the deadline in January, your chances are good.
