About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive a sum of grant for your own project, which covers up to one third of the total budget. There is no published maximum amount in euros. A panel of judges decides how much each project will receive. The City of Montpellier will transfer the amount to your bank account as soon as the panel has approved your project.
Your project must relate to one of the four themes:
- Living together in Montpellier: Projects in your neighbourhood or town that bring people together, strengthen community involvement or help others to succeed at school.
- First cultural productions: your first creative work – for example, music, a CD, a short film, a comic, dance, graffiti, theatre, an exhibition or a cultural event.
- Destination world: Encounters with young people from other cultures. The focus is on cultural discovery, exchange and humanitarian projects.
- Sustainable development: projects that reconnect people with nature, teach them about the environment or encourage them to protect it.
Eligibility
- Age: You are between 16 and 29 years old.
- Where you live: You’ve been living in Montpellier for over a year now.
- Under 18: Your parents give their consent.
- Nationality and studies: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, and you do not need to be a student.
- Your own project: This refers to a personal project of yours that is either in the planning stage or already underway. School or university assignments, theoretical research projects, club projects and work-related projects do not count.
- Other money: You have already found further funders or are looking for them to cover the remaining two-thirds of the budget.
- One project per year: You are not currently involved in any other funded project this year.
How to apply
You can obtain the application form from the ‘Espace Montpellier Jeunesse’ (the municipal youth centre) or download it from the city’s website. Please submit it to the municipal youth welfare office after making an appointment. A selection panel will review your application and invite you to an interview. An expert in your field may support you during the interview. Applications are processed during panel meetings, so there is no fixed deadline for applications.
