FSDIE Social Section: emergency financial aid

You will receive a one-off emergency payment if you are studying at the Jean-François Champollion University Centre and find yourself in genuine financial difficulty. There is no fixed amount. The amount depends on your circumstances and the funds available, and is decided on a case-by-case basis. The money comes from the university’s FSDIE fund (Fonds de Solidarité et de Développement des Initiatives Étudiantes), a solidarity fund for students in financial difficulty. This is short-term emergency assistance, not a monthly grant paid over a fixed period.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled at the Jean-François Champollion University Centre at the Albi, Rodez or Castres campus.
• Financial need: You are facing a genuine financial crisis, whether due to a sudden emergency or an ongoing difficult situation.
• Grant status: You can apply, regardless of whether you are already receiving a government study grant or not.
• Field of study: Any topic is allowed.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Collect the application forms from the Student Services Office (Service vie étudiante) on your campus or from the CROUS social worker (a state-appointed social adviser for students). The social worker will assess your situation, after which the FSDIE committee will make a decision. The committee meets 5 to 6 times a year, so there is no fixed deadline for applications.
