About this scholarship

Department Student Grants (CD08)

You will receive a one-off grant of 1,000 EUR towards your study costs, payable for one year. This grant is awarded by the Conseil Départemental des Ardennes, the local authority for the Ardennes department in north-eastern France. The grant supplements the state study grant (‘bourse nationale’) if your study costs exceed the amount covered by that grant.

Who can apply

  • Where your family lives: Your parents live in the Ardennes department (08).
  • Nationality: You are French or are applying for French citizenship.
  • Level: You are currently undertaking higher education, for example on a BTS course (a two-year vocational diploma), at a university or at a Grande École.
  • Where you study: You are studying in the Grand Est region. You can still apply, even if your degree programme is not offered there or if your application via Parcoursup (the French university admissions platform) has been rejected.
  • Progress: You won’t be repeating the school year.
  • Field of study: All participants are eligible to take part.
  • Study costs: Your study costs are higher than the state study grant you receive.
  • Family income: Your household’s monthly income is below a set threshold: from 714 euros for one person up to 1,724 euros for four people, plus 357 euros per additional person in larger households.

How to apply

Please complete the application form and submit it by email, together with the required documents. The deadline for applications is 30 September each year.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is aimed at a small, local group: your parents must live in the Ardennes, your income must be below a certain threshold, and your study costs must exceed the amount of state funding available. Very few people meet all these criteria at the same time. If you clearly meet the income and residence requirements and can provide proof of this, your chances are good.
