Corrèze higher education grant

You will receive a one-off payment of 10% of your annual national or regional needs-based grant (the CROUS or regional grant you are already receiving). This is paid once per academic year. You can apply for this grant up to a total of 5 times throughout your higher education studies. The funding comes from the Conseil Départemental de la Corrèze and supplements the state grant you are already receiving; the amount therefore depends on your grant tier (échelon).

Who can apply

• Where your parents live: Your parents or legal guardians must have their main residence in the department of Corrèze in France and pay their taxes there.
• Qualification: You hold the ‘Baccalauréat’ (the French A-level equivalent) or an equivalent qualification.
• Existing grant: You are already receiving a means-tested grant from the state (CROUS) or a region from level 0 upwards.
• Age: It is 25 of 1 October in the current school year.
• Where you study: You are enrolled at a public or private higher education institution in France. Private higher education institutions must have a contract with the state. Distance-learning and work-study programmes are not eligible.
• Field of study: Open to all disciplines.
• Progress: You won’t be repeating the school year.
• No overlap: During this academic year, you are not taking part in an Erasmus placement, any other international study programme or community service (service civique).

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the department’s online portal, which is open from 15 September to 28 February. From February onwards, you can download a certificate of attendance from your account, have it completed by your organisation, and submit it online before the deadline on 15 March.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is very narrowly defined: your parents must live in Corrèze, you must already be receiving means-tested state or regional support, and you must be under 25 years of age – so the number of people eligible for this grant is small. If you meet these conditions, your chances are good, as the grant primarily supplements the benefits you have already been awarded. Simply submit your attendance certificate by 15 March, as failure to do so will result in your exclusion.
