Renée Gerard Ecology and Environment Grant

You will receive a one-off grant of up to 1,500 EUR for one year of research or study in the fields of ecology, the environment and sustainable development. The grant is awarded by the AFFDU (French Association of University Women), which supports women in their studies and research every year. Preference is given to projects that involve a period of study or research abroad.

Who can apply

• Gender: You are a woman.
• Membership: You are a member of the AFFDU or one of its partner organisations abroad.
• Study phase: You are currently in the process of completing your PhD thesis or carrying out postdoctoral research.
• Field: You work in the fields of ecology, the environment or sustainable development.
• Age: You are 40 years old or younger.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Please submit your complete application documents by email by 31 May each year. You will need your CV, a covering letter, a copy of your degree certificate, a letter of recommendation, a certificate of enrolment and an application fee of 25 EUR.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a narrowly defined target group: only women aged 40 or younger who are active in environmental research and are already members of the AFFDU are eligible to apply. As a result, the pool of eligible candidates is small. If you clearly meet these criteria and your project involves a period of study or research abroad, your chances are good. Please apply in good time before the deadline on 31 May.
