South East Technological University - SETU Sport Scholarship Programme

Benefit

You get a package of sporting support worth up to 4,000 EUR while you study at South East Technological University's Waterford campus. The support is tailored to you as an athlete. It typically includes strength and conditioning with a personal training plan, gym and SETU Arena membership, plus sports-medicine and academic support. You get services and expert support rather than a cash payment. Awards fall into three levels that match how high you compete: an elite tier for athletes at the top of their sport, a middle sport-scholarship tier, and an emerging-talent tier for those with potential. The programme is run by SETU Sports Clubs & Societies and backed by sponsor Weltec Engineering.

Eligibility

• Where you study: You are enrolled in, or have applied to, a full-time course at SETU's Waterford campus.
• Study stage: You can be a school-leaver applying through the CAO (Ireland's central college application system), or a current SETU student.
• Sport: You compete in sport at a high level. Many sports qualify, from athletics, rowing and boxing to Gaelic football, hurling, rugby, soccer, golf and surfing.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You apply online through the SETU Waterford Sports Clubs & Societies portal. The deadline is 31 August for the coming academic year. The Sport Scholarship Committee reviews applications after the deadline and notifies you by October. Some applicants may be invited to an interview.
