About this scholarship

Benefit

As a woman studying a STEM degree at an Irish university, you will receive a bursary of 3,000 EUR. You will also be assigned a personal mentor who works at Intel – an experienced employee who will advise you throughout your studies. Furthermore, you’ll be invited to take up a paid summer placement at Intel’s site in Leixlip or Shannon, provided Intel has a suitable vacancy. The scholarship is funded by Intel Ireland to encourage more women to take an interest in science, technology and engineering.

Eligibility

  • Gender: You are a female student.
  • Degree: You are studying a 8 (Honours) degree programme, i.e. a four-year Bachelor’s degree programme with honours.
  • Field of study: You are studying a STEM subject such as physics, computer science, electrical engineering or electronics, mechatronics, or process engineering and chemical engineering.
  • University: You are studying at one of Intel’s partner universities in Ireland, such as Maynooth University, University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, TU Dublin, the University of Limerick, University College Cork or the University of Galway.
  • Study year: You are in your third or final year of study.
  • Career plans: You assume that you will be looking for a position in the second half of 2024 or 2025.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the Dean’s Office at your university. You should submit a brief overview of the modules you have taken, a brief summary of any relevant experience, and a description of 250 words setting out your career goals and the reasons for your choice of degree programme. The application deadline is usually at the end of October (in the last cycle on 27 October). Intel will review the applications and may invite you to an interview before a decision is made.
