National University of Ireland - Pierce Malone Scholarship in Engineering

Benefit

You receive a one-off 2,000 EUR award for 1 year. It comes from the National University of Ireland (NUI) and is tied to the NUI Travelling Doctoral Studentships in the Sciences and Engineering. The money goes to one engineering graduate chosen from the Travelling Studentship applicants, on the recommendation of that competition's interview panel.

Eligibility

• Degree: You are an engineering graduate of an NUI university.
• Where you studied: You graduated from University College Dublin, University College Cork, University of Galway or Maynooth University.
• Field of study: Engineering only.
• Entry route: You take part in the NUI Travelling Doctoral Studentships in the Sciences and Engineering competition. This scholarship is awarded through it.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You cannot apply for this scholarship directly. Instead you enter the NUI Travelling Doctoral Studentships in the Sciences and Engineering competition. The interview panel then recommends one engineering graduate for the Pierce Malone award. The deadline for the 2026 Travelling Studentships was 6 March.
