About this scholarship

Politecnico di Milano Silver Scholarship

You will receive a full waiver of your tuition fees for the entire academic year, worth approximately 3,900 EUR. It applies to a two-year, English-taught Master of Science (Laurea Magistrale) programme. The Politecnico di Milano offers this exemption at its smaller campuses in Cremona, Lecco, Mantua and Piacenza. For 2026–2027, there are 10 Silver scholarships. You can extend the exemption to your second year if you achieve sufficient credit-weighted examination results in your first year. There is no monthly cash allowance, and you will still be required to pay a one-off administrative fee of approximately 170 EUR.

Who can apply

  • Degree: You are applying for the first year of a two-year Master of Science programme taught in English.
  • Where you study: Your degree programme is offered at the Cremona, Lecco, Mantua or Piacenza campuses. The Milan campuses are not affected.
  • Field: Every English-taught Master of Science degree programme at these locations counts.
  • Nationality: Open to all nationalities, provided you are not an Italian citizen.
  • English: You must provide a valid English language certificate, such as IELTS or TOEFL, by the deadline.
  • Grades: Your previous grades (GPA) and the relevance of your previous studies to the Master’s programme are key factors in the selection process.

How to apply

First, submit your application during the ‘Early Bird’ period (from 1 October to 1 December) and pay the application fee. Then, by 15 December, complete a separate, free scholarship application form via the university’s online services. Upload your English language certificate by the deadline specified in the call for applications. There will be no interview. A selection panel will award the scholarships to eligible applicants, taking your academic achievements into particular consideration.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding is very limited: only 10 places, exclusively for international students and only at the four smaller campuses. The pool of applicants is far smaller than for a scholarship in Milan. If you have good grades, an academic background that matches your chosen Master’s programme, and apply within the ‘early bird’ deadline, your chances are good. As selection depends heavily on your grade point average (GPA), having a significantly above-average academic record is the most important factor.
