About this scholarship

ESU Molise mobility top-up scholarship

During your studies or an internship abroad, you will receive a supplement of 600 EUR per month for up to 10 months. This is a supplement paid on top of the regular ESU Molise study grant, and is not a separate scholarship. It is paid by E.S.U. Molise, the public body responsible for the right to education in the Italian region of Molise. You can only receive this supplement once. The total budget for 2025/2026 is 40,000 EUR and will be paid out until the funds have been exhausted. Any funding you are already receiving from EU sources (for example, an Erasmus+ mobility grant) or from your university will be deducted from the supplementary payment. Stays abroad lasting less than 15 days will not be reimbursed.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled at a higher education institution in the Molise region: the University of Molise, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Campobasso, the ‘Lorenzo Perosi’ Conservatoire of Music, or the School for Language Teachers in Molise.
  • Base grant: You have already received or qualified for the standard ESU-Molise study grant for the same academic year. Income limits apply to this grant: a household ISEE of up to 19,564.02 EUR and an ISPE (an asset indicator) of up to 42,530.51 EUR.
  • Mobility place: Your university is ranked highly enough in the rankings for 2025/2026 to take part in an international mobility programme (such as Erasmus+).
  • Credits abroad: For your study abroad programme or work placement abroad, you will receive academic credits (CFU) which will be recognised as part of your degree programme in Italy.
  • Level: This programme is aimed at students on Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes (single- or two-stage), as well as PhD students and students on specialisation programmes.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply, provided they are enrolled at one of the listed institutions in Molise.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via the ESU-Molise platform as part of the same application process as for the standard study grant. When completing the form, please tick the ‘Mobilità Internazionale’ box. The general deadline is 25 September. If your income and assets are held exclusively abroad, you must submit 2025 additional documents by 14 November.

How realistic are your chances?

This additional funding is strictly limited. You must already be receiving the standard ESU Molise grant, meet its income thresholds, be studying at an institution in Molise, and have been placed on your university’s mobility list. This small, clearly defined group means there is little competition. If you clearly meet all these conditions and apply early, your chances are good, as the funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until they run out.
