About this grant / loan

Total fee exemption at the University of Macerata

You will pay no tuition at all if you live in the same household as a parent who receives an Italian disability pension (pensione di inabilita, a state pension for people who are unable to work). The University of Macerata will waive both your annual enrolment fee and the regional tuition fee for as long as you remain enrolled. You will still be required to pay a few minor charges: stamp duty (imposta di bollo), the additional fee for e-learning services, and any late payment surcharges.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled at the University of Macerata in Italy or are in the process of enrolling there.
  • Family situation: You live in the same household as a parent who receives an Italian disability pension (pensione di inabilita).
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
  • Degree level: You are not eligible to enrol if you are applying for a degree programme that corresponds to, or is of a lower level than, the qualification you have already obtained.

How to apply

This exemption is not part of the standard online enrolment process. Download the application form from the university’s forms section. Submit it together with a signed statement confirming that your parent receives a disability pension. Hand it in at your faculty’s Student Office or upload it to your personal account, then open a ticket on the Infostudenti platform to notify the relevant departments. Submit the documents within the deadline for enrolment, pre-enrolment or renewal, and pay the first instalment of the remaining fees by 31 October.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive scholarship with a limited number of places. It is an entitlement. If you are enrolled at the University of Macerata and can prove that a parent in your household receives a disability pension, you are entitled to the exemption. The main reason why eligible students are unable to claim this entitlement is that they do not have the correct form or have missed the deadline. You should therefore submit your application in good time and enclose the required declaration.
