University of Macerata (Macerata/Italy) - Fee exemption of 5% for students who have siblings enrolled at a higher education institution headquartered in the region of Marche

What you get

At the University of Macerata in Italy, you are entitled to a discount of 5% cut on your annual tuition fee. To be eligible for this discount, a close family member must be studying at a university in the Marche region at the same time. The discount applies to the annual flat-rate fee (the COA, the main fee covering your tuition and administrative costs). This does not include the regional tuition fee of 140 EUR, the stamp duty of 16 EUR, or any late payment charges. The discount will be deducted from your instalment payments from the second instalment onwards.

Who can apply

• University: You are a full-time student at the University of Macerata.
• Family link: You live in the same household as a sibling, a parent or a child. This person must also be enrolled at a university in the Marche region. This includes the University of Macerata and the region’s three other universities.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities welcome.

How to apply

You apply for the discount when you enrol, pre-enrol or renew your enrolment. You can do this via your personal account on studenti.unimc.it under the ‘Fee exemption’ section. You must provide proof that your family member has paid the tuition fees at a university in the Marche region for the current year. Submit your application within the enrolment deadlines. The first instalment is usually due by 31 October.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not an award granted as part of a competition, but an automatic discount. If you meet the family eligibility criteria and are studying full-time in Macerata, you will receive this discount. The only real hurdle is proving that your sibling, a parent or your child is enrolled at a university in the Marche region and is paying tuition fees. Have their proof of payment to hand and submit your application within the enrolment period.
