About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a grant of up to 200 EUR per month from the University of Macerata to cover the costs of a work placement undertaken as part of your studies. A work placement undertaken as part of your studies is one that counts towards your degree. The amount is paid as a reimbursement for up to 3 months, i.e. a total of no more than 600 EUR. This is a co-funding arrangement: the host company or institution makes a corresponding contribution. If the host organisation contributes, the university’s share is reduced to 100 EUR per month. For placements abroad at public institutions, the funding may instead be provided in the form of benefits in kind. The funds come from the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR).
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s, Master’s or single-cycle Master’s degree programme at the University of Macerata.
- Internship: You have completed a work placement as part of your degree, are currently undertaking one, or are about to start one. It lasts at least 3 months and is worth at least 6 ECTS credits (CFU).
- Where: The work placement takes place at a public or private organisation outside the university, either in Italy or abroad.
- Host contribution: The host will cover part of your placement costs or has undertaken to do so.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: All nationalities welcome.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted online via your student portal on the university website, under the ‘Iniziative’ section. The application deadline is 5 October. Eligible applications will be placed on a waiting list, and funding will be allocated from there.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding is available exclusively to students from Macerata who are already undertaking an eligible internship with a paid host organisation; consequently, the pool of eligible applicants is naturally small. If you meet these criteria and apply by the deadline, your chances are good, as places are awarded on a merit basis rather than on the basis of fierce competition. Please note that funding is subject to the Ministry’s approval of the budget, so a call for applications is not issued every year.
