Merit awards for philosophy Master's students at UniSR

You get a merit award that covers almost all of your tuition fees, which run at about 6,690 EUR per year for the two-year Master's programme. The award continues through both years, as long as you keep meeting the conditions. It is given by Universita Vita-Salute San Raffaele (UniSR) in Milan, a small private university. For 2026/2027, six awards are split between two Master's programmes: Philosophy of the Contemporary World (Filosofia del Mondo Contemporaneo) and Theory and History of the Arts and the Image (Teoria e Storia delle Arti e dell'Immagine).

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are starting the first year of a Master's programme.
• Programme: You enrol in the Master in Philosophy of the Contemporary World or the Master in Theory and History of the Arts and the Image at UniSR in Milan.
• Grades: The awards go to the top applicants, judged on academic results.
• Financial need: Your household income is also assessed, using the Italian ISEE indicator, a certificate of your family's economic situation.
• Timing: You must have finished your Bachelor's or first degree by a set date. One round is for graduates by 31 October 2026, the other for graduates by 23 December 2026.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you enrol on the programme.

How to apply

You apply online through the UniSR student services platform. There are two windows for 2026/2027. The first runs from 1 July to 6 November 2026, for graduates by 31 October. The second runs from 6 November to 31 December 2026, for graduates by 23 December. The ISEE certificate takes at least 10 working days to obtain, so request it early.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly: only first-year students on two specific philosophy Master's programmes at one small Milan university can apply, so the pool is limited. With six awards on offer and both grades and income counting, a strong applicant who clearly fits and applies within the window has solid prospects. Sorting out your ISEE certificate in good time removes a common last-minute obstacle.
