About this scholarship

Monique Rollin Award

You get a one-off payment of 2,500 EUR as a student at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris (CNSMDP). The Fondation Monique Rollin gives out two awards of 2,500 EUR each year: the Prix d'interprétation for a pianist (sometimes a harpist), and the Bourse Monique Rollin for a musicology student. The foundation was set up in 2002 through the will of Monique Rollin, a musician, harpist, lutenist and musicologist who taught at the Conservatoire.

Who can apply

  • University: You study at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP).
  • Field of study: You study piano or harp for the Prix d'interprétation, or musicology for the Bourse.
  • Performance: You stand out for your artistic excellence and have a strong performance record.
  • Financial need: Your financial situation also counts in the decision.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can be considered. The only requirement is that you study at the CNSMDP.

How to apply

There is no open application. A committee inside the Conservatoire picks the winners based on excellence and financial need. The chosen students are announced each year and perform at the Fondation de France laureates' concert at the CNSMDP.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut very narrowly. Only students at this one Paris conservatoire, in piano, harp or musicology, can be picked. You do not compete by applying. You become eligible by studying there and standing out to your teachers. If your performance is strong and your situation shows real need, your name can be put forward.
