Holland Scholarship for Rietveld students going abroad

You get a one-off payment of 2,500 EUR towards the cost of studying, doing research or an internship outside Europe. It is a contribution to your expenses, not a full scholarship. The money comes from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science together with Dutch universities. The Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam pays it out to you.

Who can apply

• Your school: You are enrolled in a full-time programme at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
• Where you go: You go to a country outside the European Economic Area (the EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) for your study, research or internship.
• How long: Your stay abroad lasts at least 3 months and is worth at least 15 ECTS credits (the standard measure of study workload).
• Field of study: Any subject is fine. The scholarship is open to all Rietveld students.

How to apply

You apply directly at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, through its International Office. There is no fixed deadline, but apply at least 3 months before you plan to go abroad.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is narrowly targeted. Only current Rietveld students heading to a non-European country for at least 3 months can apply, so the pool of applicants is small. If you clearly meet those conditions and apply well before your trip, your prospects are good.
