Radboud University Individual Travel Grant

You get 200 EUR per month if you go abroad within Europe, or 300 EUR per month if your stay is outside Europe. The exact amount depends on the number of days you spend abroad, and funding runs for up to 4 months. That means a maximum of 800 EUR for a stay in Europe or 1,200 EUR outside Europe. The grant comes from Radboud University's student support fund. It tops up your own budget rather than covering everything, and it is meant for the extra costs of going abroad, such as flights, a visa, rent or vaccinations.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled as a full-time bachelor's or master's student at Radboud University.
• Where you go: You go abroad for study, an internship or a research project, for at least 2 months in a row.
• Credits: You earn course credits during the stay, and your study programme or faculty has approved the trip.
• Real costs: Your stay involves actual extra costs. A purely virtual exchange with no travel costs does not qualify.
• No other grant: You are not receiving an Erasmus+ grant, an NL Scholarship or a Radboud Honours Academy grant for the same stay.
• First time this cycle: You have not already received an NL or Individual Travel Grant for study, a placement, an internship or research in your current study cycle (bachelor's or master's).
• Timing: You leave at least 2 weeks after you apply.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, both EU/EEA and non-EU.

How to apply

First apply for your stay abroad through your Osiris account. Once your faculty's International Office gives preliminary approval, you get an email with a link to the grant form. Fill it in completely. Your full application must reach Student Life and International Mobility at least 2 weeks before you leave. The round for the next academic year opens around April.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is aimed narrowly at Radboud students who go abroad and cannot get an Erasmus+ or NL Scholarship, so the eligible group is limited. If you are enrolled full time, your stay meets the two-month minimum and your faculty has approved it, your prospects are good. Apply well before departure, since your documents must arrive at least 2 weeks ahead.
