ESE Additional Scholarship

You get a one-off payment of up to 500 EUR towards the cost of a study exchange abroad. The Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) at Erasmus University Rotterdam gives this extra grant to a few students who want an exchange but cannot cover the trip themselves. It comes on top of other exchange funding. The money is paid in two parts: 75% before you leave and the last 25% after you return and hand in your transcript, a short report and photos. The budget is limited, so not everyone who applies receives it.

Who can apply

• University: You study at the Erasmus School of Economics, at bachelor or master level.
• Exchange place: You have already been selected for a study exchange abroad.
• Financial need: You can show that you do not have enough money to fund the trip yourself.
• Motivation: You can explain why the exchange matters to you.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

You do not apply separately. This scholarship is part of your regular ESE exchange application, and the exchange coordinator decides who gets the money. Deadlines can fall as early as January, so prepare your exchange application well ahead, ideally 6 to 12 months in advance.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is deliberately narrow: only ESE exchange students who can prove they lack the means to fund their trip qualify. Even among them, just a few are chosen from a limited budget. If you clearly fit the requirements and can document real financial need, you have a fair shot. Treat it as a top-up rather than money you can count on, and apply early with a well-evidenced case.
