The Hong Kong Research Grant is for geographical research in selected Asian countries. This includes China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong. It is awarded by the Royal Geographical Society. There are two grants available. The first is for PhD students. It is worth £2,500. The second is for undergraduate students. It is worth £1,000.
To apply students must be on a course at a UK university. The fieldwork must be in one of the listed countries and must last for more than four weeks. It must also be for geographical research. Individual applicants are preferred but groups can apply. Preference is given to students who have not studied in the region before. Students who work closely with individuals in the country of research are also given preference.
