About this award / prize

What the Excellence Prizes give you

You get an academic prize for the best grade in a specific Law subject during your Licenciatura em Direito (undergraduate Law degree). Leading law firms sponsor these honorary prizes together with the Faculty of Law at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Catholic University of Portugal). The main value is the recognition and the link to the sponsoring firm. One prize is different: the Prémio Escolar Sérvulo & Associados gives you a summer internship at the law firm Sérvulo & Associados. Each prize is tied to a different subject, for example Introduction to the Study of Law, Law of Obligations, Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure and Administrative Law. They are handed out once a year at the Faculty Day (Dia da Faculdade) ceremony, usually in November. Most prizes do not publish a cash amount.

Who can win

  • Grades: You’ve got the top mark in the subject for which a particular prize is awarded.
