About this scholarship
Benefit
You get a single cash payment of about 4,100 EUR (based on 2024/2025) for one academic year. The amount equals five times the Portuguese national minimum monthly wage at the start of the academic year, so it rises as that wage rises. You get it purely for top grades. Your income and your family's income do not matter, as there is no means-test. The award is run nationally by Portugal's Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES) and given out at NOVA University Lisbon (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa), including its Faculty of Sciences and Technology (NOVA FCT).
Eligibility
- University: You study at NOVA University Lisbon.
- Degree level: You are enrolled in a bachelor's (licenciatura), integrated master's or master's programme.
- Field of study: Any subject.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Grades: In the previous academic year you passed every course of your year (60 ECTS credits) with an average of at least 16 out of 20 ("Muito Bom", Very Good).
- Enrolment history: You were enrolled in the previous academic year.
How to apply
You do not apply. NOVA University Lisbon picks eligible students automatically based on their grades, following the rules in a public notice (Edital) it publishes each year. DGES gives each university a number of awards based on its student numbers. The university then publishes provisional and final winner lists on its website.
