About this scholarship

Erasmus+ mobility grant at the Nursing College of Porto

During your studies or work placement abroad, you will receive a monthly grant of around 500 EUR as well as additional travel allowance. In this context, ‘mobility’ refers to a period of study or work in another country. Your stay will last between 3 and 12 months. The exact amount depends on the cost of living in the destination country. The funding comes from the EU’s Erasmus+ programme. It is paid out via the Escola Superior de Enfermagem da Universidade do Porto (ESEP), the University of Porto’s School of Nursing. You can study at a partner university or undertake a work placement in a company, a hospital or another organisation in one of 33 European countries. Some host institutions may provide additional financial support.

Who can apply

  • Your school: You are enrolled at the Higher School of Nursing in Porto (ESEP).
  • Study level: You are a student on a Bachelor’s degree programme (Licenciatura) and have already earned at least 45 ECTS credits. Graduates who have only recently completed their studies may also apply for an internship abroad.
  • Where you go: You go to one of ESEP's partner institutions in one of the 33 participating European countries.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are enrolled at ESEP.

How to apply

First, you should submit a brief preliminary application (pré-candidatura) to express your interest in studying abroad. The application window opens once a year. ESEP announces this on its website and on social media, and you can then submit your application.
