ISEC Lisboa - Mobility grants for students - Erasmus +

What you get

You get a monthly grant of 350 to 500 EUR to study abroad for 2 to 12 months. The exact rate depends on how expensive your destination is: 500 EUR for higher-cost countries such as Germany, France, Italy or the Nordics, 400 EUR for medium-cost ones like Spain, Greece or Czechia, and 350 EUR for lower-cost ones like Poland, Croatia or Romania. The grant covers part of your living costs, not all. You pay no tuition at the host university, and the courses you pass abroad count in full towards your ISEC Lisboa degree. The grant is run by ISEC Lisboa (Instituto Superior de Educação e Ciências) in Lisbon, Portugal.

In addition, various supplementary benefits can be added. If you travel by train, bus or car-share, you will receive a one-off allowance for environmentally friendly travel amounting to 50 EUR. Working students can apply for a Universitas grant equal to their monthly net salary for up to 4 months, subject to a cap of three times the Portuguese Social Assistance Rate (IAS). Students with a disability or health impairment, as well as those facing financial, family or geographical barriers, may be eligible for further grants. If you are selected but do not receive a grant, you can still take part on a ‘zero-grant’ basis: you retain the same academic rights and receive a discount of 50% on your monthly ISEC Lisboa tuition fees during your stay.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at ISEC Lisboa on a short technical course (CTeSP), a Bachelor’s degree programme or a Master’s degree programme.
• Study phase: You must have completed at least your first year of study. You cannot take part during your first year of study.
• Field of study: Open to all degree programmes. The countries you can travel to depend on the partnership agreements for your field of study.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at ISEC Lisboa.
• One funded grant: An Erasmus+ grant can only be received once.
• Grades: Your grade average counts for 70% of your ranking score, so strong results matter most for getting a place and the money.

How to apply

The application period for a study placement in the following academic year usually runs from 20 December to 15 February. You will need to complete an online form, draw up a provisional study plan and select up to 3 partner universities in order of preference. Applicants are then ranked primarily on the basis of their grade point average, and the highest-ranked students are awarded places and scholarships.
