2 fully funded PhD positions are available under this scholarship. Both positions receive tuition funding and stipend. This is funded by the AHRC. The studentship is tenable for up to three years (full-time), subject to academic progression. The students will become part of a team on the project 'Africa’s Sons Under Arms: Race, Military Bodies and the British West India Regiments in the Atlantic world, 1795-1914'.
Applicants should be holders of a valid and relevant first degree (at least 2:1 or equivalent) in History or a related discipline. The student should also have a relevant Masters degree, or be close to completion.
