Birmingham University offers 330 scholarships to students with low income background. It is part of the National Scholarship Programme. The total value of the scholarship is £6,500. It helps students throughout their three years of study. In the first year the amount is £2,000, in the second year it is £2,500, and in the third year it is £2,000.
This scholarship is available to all students who are: undergraduate students of the Birmingham City University; liable for the new tuition fee rates; from the European Union; and have household income below £25,000. However, students from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are excluded. If there are more applicants than available scholarships academic achievement and potential are taken into account.
