The Newcastle University offers the James Skillington Memorial Scholarship with the aim of supporting Chemistry students in financial need. This scholarship includes an award of £2000 split over three years (£1,000 in year one and £500 each in years 2 and 3).
This scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate first year students enrolled at Newcastle University; first priority will be given to those students qualifying on academic and financial grounds applying for degrees in Chemistry. Should such a candidate not be identified, the Fund may be used to support a student in an alternative science subject, ideally in a discipline related to Chemistry. Applicants must be permanent residents of the UK coming from a less privileged financial background.
