General Description

The Postgraduate Travel Fund & Collins Kitchin fund are available to NUI Maynooth Research Students who are registered at the Social Science faculty for postgraduate research. The purpose of the grant is to assist students with costs associated with attending a conference if they are presenting a paper, a poster, or taking a module at an external university. The costs that are usually covered by the fund include registration costs, transportation and accommodation. Applicants must present the necessary confirmation to show that they have been selected to present at a conference, or to show they have been accepted by a university to take a module. The maximum grant available is €600. This amount varies according to the location of the conference or university. If they are in Ireland or the UK the grant is values at €300. If it is mainland Europe it is €400, and if it is in the USA or another country it is €600. These amounts are available for presenting a paper or taking a module. Half the amount is given to students presenting a poster.

Requirements

Only students from NUI Maynooth who are registered for a research degree and who have been successfully selected to present a poster or paper are considered for the fund. Students must acknowledge that they have received funding from the Postgraduate Travel Fund NUI Maynooth on their paper and poster.
