About this scholarship

Benefit: what you get

The Spanish Ministry of Education funds further education following compulsory schooling through an annual grant comprising several components. The total amount depends on your personal circumstances; the components are:

  • Tuition cover (university only): The fees for initial enrolment are payable at the official public rate.
  • Income supplement: EUR 1,700, if your household income is below the scheme threshold.
  • Relocation supplement: EUR 2,700, if you need to move away from home to study.
  • Academic excellence bonus: to 125 euros, depending on your marks.
  • Variable amount: a formula-based proportion of the remaining budget, calculated on the basis of your grade point average and your household’s per capita income; minimum amount: 60 euros.

The scholarship is valid for one academic year and is renewed annually, provided you submit a new application and continue to meet the criteria, for a total of up to four years (48 months). If you live in Catalonia, you should apply for the scholarship from the Catalan regional government (Generalitat de Catalunya) instead; this applies from the academic year 2026/2027.
