About this scholarship
What you get
For your involvement in a research project within a department at a university during the academic year 2026–2027, you will receive a one-off payment of 2,000 EUR. A lecturer from this department will supervise your work. Funding is provided by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sport. There are 2,111 places available.
Who can apply
- Study level: You are in the final year of a state-recognised Spanish bachelor’s degree programme (Grado) or in the first year of a state-recognised master’s degree programme.
- No degree yet: You do not yet hold a bachelor’s, master’s or equivalent degree in this subject area.
- Enrolment: You are enrolled for all remaining modules or credits in 2026–2027. Bachelor’s students must have already completed at least 75% of their degree programme.
- Grades: You need a minimum grade point average, which depends on your field of study: 7.25 for engineering and architecture, 7.70 for natural sciences, social sciences and law, 7.80 for health sciences and 8.00 for arts and humanities.
- Field of study: Anyone interested is welcome to apply.
- Where you study: You are studying at a university in Spain. Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply.
How to apply
You should submit your application online via the Ministry’s electronic portal (Sede Electrónica). You should also submit a brief project description. Your department will review and assess this, so you should seek its support at an early stage. The application deadline for 2026-2027 is 22 September 2026 at 15:00.
How realistic are your chances?
With 2,111 places available, this is more of a broad-based national programme than a single, highly competitive award, meaning that a suitable applicant stands a fair chance. The grade thresholds are the actual selection criteria. If you achieve the average for your subject area, have completed 75% of your degree and can persuade a faculty to support a sound project proposal, you will be in a strong position.
