The United Scholarship for education-seeking people in Slagelse Municipality

You get a one-off grant towards documented education costs, paid by Slagelse Municipality in Denmark. It covers concrete expenses such as course or enrolment fees, specialist equipment or tools, and textbooks and materials. In special cases it can also cover travel or temporary accommodation if that is essential to finishing your course. The amount per person depends on your documented need and how many people apply, so no fixed sum is guaranteed. The grant does not cover general living costs.

Who can apply

• Where you live: You live in the area of the former municipality of Slagelse or are registered as a resident there. These are the boundaries that applied prior to the local government reform of 2007.
• Study phase: You have completed your compulsory education and are now in further education or on a vocational training programme, either at school or as an apprentice.
• Field of study: All subjects and educational pathways are open to you.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they meet the residence requirements.
• What the money is for: You are applying for reimbursement of specific, documented training costs, not general living expenses.

How to apply

You should submit your application to Slagelse Council. The council publishes the details at the end of March each year, and the deadline is 30 April. Once the deadline has passed, the municipality will decide who will receive the grant and will notify you of the decision by digital letter. If your application is rejected, you can submit a new application next year.
