Benefit

You will receive a one-off grant for a specific project in medical research or engineering. The money is intended to cover specific costs, not living expenses or a salary. In medicine and biomedical research, particularly in cancer research, the grant can be used to fund pilot studies, laboratory equipment, analyses or small-scale clinical trials. For engineering students, it can be used to fund a short course, further training abroad, a study trip or the construction of a prototype. The grant is provided by an independent Danish foundation, which was established in 1996 in memory of Inge and Jørgen Larsen. The foundation is administered by the law firm Bremer Advokater.

Eligibility

• Who you are: You are an early-career researcher or PhD student in medicine or a related health science. Or you are an engineering student who wants shorter further training or support for a concrete technical project.
• Field of study: Medicine and biomedical research or engineering. Cancer research is preferred, but is not a prerequisite.
• What the money is for: A clearly defined project or a training course, not general living costs or a salary.
• Nationality: Open to all nationalities, although applicants must have a connection to Denmark.
• University: You do not need to be affiliated with a specific university. Having a connection to a clinic, laboratory, institute or supervisor will improve your chances, but is not essential.

How to apply

There is no application form. Please email a short cover letter, a one- to two-page project description including a budget, your CV and no more than one or two supporting documents to Bremer Advokater. The deadline is 1 December each year. Decisions on funding are made around mid-February.
