Engineer Kjeld Schmidt and Wife Vera Schmidt's Memorial Scholarship

You will receive a one-off grant of roughly 3,000 to 7,000 DKK (about 400 to 940 EUR), with most grants amounting to around 5,000 DKK (approximately 670 EUR). The Danish Memorial Fund awards a total of around 50,000 DKK annually, meaning that only a small number of students receive funding in each round.

Who can apply

• Connection to Aabenraa: You live in the municipality of Aabenraa in South Jutland or have a personal connection to this region.
• Level of study: You are enrolled in higher education.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply, provided they have a connection to Aabenraa.
• Financial need: Priority is given to students who need the money most urgently.

How to apply

To begin with, please request an application form by email or send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the Fund’s office. You should then submit a written application setting out your circumstances by 15 March each year, either by post or by email. Decisions are usually announced in July.
