About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a grant towards your agricultural training, regardless of whether you are studying in Denmark or abroad. The amount is not fixed. The Board decides on each grant on a case-by-case basis and distributes the foundation’s annual income of approximately 125,000 DKK (around 16,800 EUR) amongst all successful applicants. You can apply for a grant for agricultural degree programmes, for example for the foundation year (animals, plants and nature), the ‘Production Manager’ programme, modules of the advanced stage of study, the ‘Agricultural Economics’ programme, the Faculty of Science and Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, or the ‘Agricultural Technologist’ programme. Study periods abroad are also taken into account. The funds come from the ‘Nordsjællands Landbrugsskoles Fond’, a Danish foundation established from the proceeds of the sale of the former Nordsjælland Agricultural College.

Who can apply

  • Field of study: You are studying a subject within the field of agriculture or agricultural science, or are planning a study trip on the subject of agriculture.
  • Where you study: You can study in Denmark or abroad.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Local ties: You will be given priority if you have close links to North-East Zealand and Hornsherred: the municipalities of Allerød, Egedal, Fredensborg, Frederikssund, Furesø, Gribskov, Halsnæs, Helsingør, Hillerød, Hørsholm and Rudersdal. You may also apply without such connections; the decision is at the discretion of the Executive Board.
  • Extra support: You may be eligible for an additional grant if you were born in the municipality of Fredensborg or have lived there for at least 10 years.
  • Tax note: The grant is treated as taxable income (B-indkomst) for you.
