About this scholarship

Laurits Rasmussen's Scholarship (Nysøgaard fund)

You get a one-off grant to help pay for your agricultural education in Denmark. This can be a stay at an agricultural school (landbrugsskole) or studies in agricultural science at university. In its last year the fund shared out a total of 45,000 DKK (about 6,000 EUR) between several recipients, so your individual grant is smaller than that. The fund was set up in 1970 in memory of the Rasmussen family of the Nysøgaard farm in Hvalsø. It is run by agricultural societies on the Danish island of Zealand.

Who can apply

  • What you study: You train or study in agriculture, either at an agricultural school or in agricultural science at university.
  • Where you were born: You must have been born on Zealand (Sjælland), the Danish island that includes Copenhagen and Roskilde.
  • Age and stage: You are a young person starting out in farming.
  • Grades: Your academic results count when applicants are ranked against each other.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you were born on Zealand and study in Denmark.

How to apply

Send your application to the fund's office by 1 October.
