About this scholarship
Vera and Carl Johan Michaelsens Scholarship
You will receive up to 75,000 DKK (about 10,050 EUR) for a study period abroad lasting between half a year and one year. The funding can be used to cover tuition fees, travel and accommodation costs whilst studying at a leading university, within a company, at a Danish innovation centre, an embassy or consulate, or another relevant organisation abroad. It can also fund a full PhD, Master’s or MBA programme at a leading foreign university, or an intensive language course linked to your stay. The scholarship is awarded by the Danish foundation ‘Vera og Carl Johan Michaelsens Legat’, which aims to open up new export markets for Danish companies.
Who can apply

- University: You are studying or have graduated from Aalborg University, Aarhus University, Copenhagen Business School, the University of Southern Denmark or the IT University of Copenhagen.
- Grades: At the time of your application, your combined average mark from your Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees must be at least 9.4 on the Danish 7-point scale.

How to apply
You should submit your application as a single PDF file to your own university. The scholarship is awarded twice a year: the application deadline for the spring term is around 28 April, and for the autumn term around 27 October. Each application is assessed on the basis of your grades and your reasons for choosing your place of study. In each round, only a small number of applicants receive funding.
