About this scholarship
Kirsten Schottlænders Fond scholarship
You will receive a grant of around 10,000 DKK (about 1,340 EUR) for projects relating to Iberian and Ibero-Romance languages and cultures: Spanish, Catalan or Portuguese language, literature or history. The Executive Board determines the exact amount for each applicant. As a rule, you must use the grant within the year in which it is awarded. It may be used to fund a study exchange, an internship or a research placement abroad, as well as the publication of your own work. The funding comes from the Kirsten Schottlænders Fond, a Danish charitable foundation established in 1980 to promote study and research in the field of Iberian languages and cultures.
Who can apply
- Who you are: You are a student, researcher or teacher specialising in Iberian or Ibero-Romance languages and cultures.
- Field of study: Your work focuses on the Spanish, Catalan or Portuguese language, literature or history.
- University: Any university works, and you can even apply with no university link at all (for example as an upper-secondary school teacher). A link to the University of Copenhagen is preferred.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
- Extra documents: If you are a Bachelor's student, add a recommendation from a teacher. If you are not at a university, add a CV of up to one page. For a publication, add at least a statement from a publisher.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted exclusively via the online form on the Foundation’s website. Applications sent by post will not be accepted. Please submit a brief application outlining your project, together with a detailed financial plan. The application deadline is 1 March at 12:00. Grants are awarded once a year in early March, and you can expect a response around early to mid-May.
