General Description
The Belgian American Educational Foundation (B.A.E.F.) provides fellowships for advanced study or research at a Belgian University or institution for one academic year. The B.A.E.F. awards up to eight fellowships for a stipend of $25,000 each for one year. The fellowship period must be for at least 6 months. The stipend will be prorated accordingly. The Foundation also provides health insurance.
Requirements
Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Applicants must either be registered in a graduate program towards a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the United States, or register in a graduate program in Belgium (Master's or Ph.D) in Belgium, or hold a Master's, Ph.D., or equivalent degree. Preference is given to applicants under the age of 30. Applicants should make their own arrangements to register or affiliate with a Belgian University or research institution. B.A.E.F. Fellows must reside in Belgium during the tenure of their fellowship.
